Author: Dr Seuss?
Publisher: not known
Source book: One of Our Thursdays is Missing by Jasper Fforde
Hum. Well I never read The Cat in the Hat, possibly because I was a British child, and maybe it wasn’t so popular here in the early 1960s. And I don’t remember any of my little friends having a copy (I was extremely jealous of a slightly younger friend who had some Richard Scarry books which I loved). But I don't remember any Dr Seuss. My mother wouldn’t have bothered to get me a copy if she had seen one, because I mysteriously taught myself to read before I went to school, aged 4. Honestly, do not ask me how that happened because I have no idea.
But here’s the thing: there doesn’t seem to be The Cat in the Hat II. Although, there was The Cat in the Hat Comes Back. And thus there was no chance of The Cat in the Hat III. Revenge of the Things or otherwise. And what could the plot be?
Do these books have plots? Forgive me if they do. I’ve not read one.
And erm, what things? It seems that one of the Thursdays partnered with Captain Phantastic (an elephant, remember) to investigate the whole sorry issue of The Cat in the Hat III.
And what sorry issue would that be? Hello?? Any news?
