Title: Advanced Potion-Making
Author: Libatius Borage
Publisher: not known
Source book: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter #6)
Harry Potter was not expecting to study Potions in the sixth year at Hogwarts so didn’t buy the books or equipment he needs. He has to borrow a second hand copy of Advanced Potion-Making which turns out to have belonged to ‘the Half-Blood Prince’ and is filled with handwritten comments and alterations to the potions.
Harry meets Eldred Worple, author of Blood Bothers: My Life Amongst the Vampires, and his vampire friend Sanguini at one of Professor Slughorn’s parties. Rather him than me.
Also mentioned in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince are Advanced Rune Translation (obviously Hermione is reading this);
Confronting the Faceless (a Defence Against the Dark Arts textbook);
Flesh Eating Trees of the World;
Quintessence: A Quest (a Charms text);
and Magick Moste Evile wherein Hermione finds a reference to Horcruxes, but only in the introduction, but ‘of the Horcrux, wickedest of magical inventions, we shall not speak nor give direction…’ says the book. Hermione is infuriated and no wonder.
and The Healer’s Helpmate which Mrs Weasley consults when her family need healthcare.
Plus, and how could I forget, The Standard Book of Spells Grade 6 by Miranda Goshawk.
