Deadly Storm by Richard Castle

Title: Deadly Storm

Author: Richard Castle and an unnamed illustrator

Publisher: not known

Source: TV series Castle S3 E24 ‘Knockout’

We learn that Richard Castle is branching out into graphic novels. Well, why not? They are super popular in francophone countries, and increasingly so amongst anglophones. We don’t find out who the illustrator is, which is a pity,  but a couple of episodes after this breaking news we do see copies of the new book when a case takes the team to a shop specialising in comics and graphic novels. And then we discover that Detective Beckett has preordered a copy. Something she really didn’t want Castle to know.

Of course you can tell that the new book features Castle’s character Derrick Storm, and perhaps another character from the Derrick Storm books: Clara Strike. She was based on a CIA agent Castle had a short relationship with, more of a fling I suspect, but who unfortunately turned out to be a double agent - well, you know, if she’s really hot you won’t be checking her for possible double agentness. Derrick Storm featured in a series of successful novels before Castle killed him off, but we do not know if the plot of Deadly Storm is taken from an existing Derrick Storm book, or if it has a brand new storyline. Presumably there will be many scenes featuring guns and dead bodies.
