A Match Made in Space by George McFly

Title: A Match Made in Space

Author: George McFly

Publisher: Probert Publishing

Source: Back to the Future starring Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd

I found this front cover design for A Match Made in Space by George McFly on Goodreads where the book has been reviewed as though by a resident of Hill Valley in the 1980s. And reviewed by others too. My favourite review is ‘without a doubt the greatest book ever not-written’. Well done whoever wrote that.

It does appear that nobody has yet written their own version of A Match Made in Space. Maybe Universal Pictures’s lawyers have put them off. But you can buy a blank notebook with this cover, and write your bestseller-to-be.

I have a feeling that A Match Made in Space is probably written in the trashiest sci fi style. Perhaps we can excuse George McFly... After all, he must have been scared out of his wits when that ‘spaceman’ appeared.

Remember George is the father of Marty McFly, the main character in Back to the Future. Never seen it? Good heavens! Get yourself a dvd or a download or something and watch it. Immediately.

The cover design of this book doesn’t inspire much confidence, so I really don’t want to speculate about the plot. And I do rather wonder that we are expected to believe it would be a runaway success. Schlocky sci fi is a bit niche. But maybe things are different in Back to the Future land.
