Lord of the Swastika by Adolph Hitler
Thanks to Old Farmers Almanac |
Author: Adolph Hitler
Publisher: Not known
Source book: The Iron Dream by Norman Spinrad
Norman Spinrad’s satirical novel features a different-timeline version of Adolph Hitler emigrating to the United States in 1919 and becoming a successful science fiction writer. These are fairly well known fictional books and you can find them on several lists. Including, obviously, this one.
It is important to note that Norman Spinrad is in no way supporting the ideology of the Nazi party in this alternative history novel. If you want to find out more about his unusual book try Wikipedia. Or read The Iron Dream which you can tell I haven’t.
Lord of the Swastika is Adolph Hitler’s final book, published shortly before his death in 1953. It wins a Hugo Award. Presumably the first one; as the Hugo was first awarded in 1953. If you are interested in Hugo Award winners in our timeline (or my timeline - I don’t know about you), here is a list. Apparently the whole of Lord of the Swastika features in The Iron Dream but it’s not printed in a separate book.
Hitler has also written The Master Race, The Thousand Year Rule, The Triumph of the Will (according to Wikipedia), and also (according to a different list) Tomorrow the World, Emperor of the Asteroids, The Builders of Mars, Fight for the Stars, The Twilight of Terra, and Savior from Space.
Adolph Hitler may lead the Nazi party in a quest for world domination in our (my) timeline, but you can see that he conquers the galaxy in quite a different way in his alt-history novels.
