The Inner Life of Houseplants by Joyce Chalfen
Thanks to Smart Garden Guide |
Author: Joyce Chalfen
Publisher: Not known
Source book: White Teeth by Zadie Smith
Joyce Chalfen, a member of the disfunctional, pseudo-Marxist, white middle-class Chalfen family has written The Inner Life of Houseplants, The New Flower Power and The Secret Passions of the Climbing Rose.
Marcus Chalfen has written some quite different books: Chimeric Mice: An Evaluation and Practical Exploration of the Work of Binster (1974) Concerning the Embryonic Fusion of Mouse Strains at the Eight-Cell Stage of Development.
And Transgenic Mice: A Study of the Inherent Limitations of DNA Microinjection (Gordon and Ruddle 1981) in Comparison with Embryonic Stem (ES) Cell-Mediated Gene Transfer (Gossler, et al., 1986). [I hope I have these correct]
You may have guessed that I haven’t read White Teeth so I don’t know if Marcus’s works are proper books, or, as I suspect, research papers. Well, you never know. But Joyce’s books sound real. If she wasn’t fictional.
