The Walking Dead, (not The Walking Dead, the TV series about zombies), but the book in the palace library in Rifthold.
Celaena Sardothien finds a book full of Wyrdmarks, and with words in a language she doesn’t recognise, in the extremely private office of a corrupt and wealthy businessman. In a kingdom where magic has been eradicated this is pretty unusual. All books about magic were supposedly burned on the orders of the king.The spine of this book has a single wyrdmark written in blood red ink. Well, if that’s not enough to put you off picking it up and flipping through the pages, nothing will. Celaena is not easily put off.
Later, Celaena finds a copy of the same book in her murdered friend’s apartments. Celaena leads an exhausting life but reads a great many books, and we learn nothing at all about most of them.
