Three Thousand Miles Through the Bush on a Tricycle by Georgia Cavendish

Title: Three Thousand Miles Through the Bush on a Tricycle

Author: Georgia Cavendish

Publisher: Not known

Source book: There’s Trouble Brewing by Nicholas Blake

In the second book featuring private investigator Nigel Strangeways, Nigel meets intrepid explorer Georgia Cavendish. By the end of the book Nigel has fallen very much in love with Georgia and by the next book they are married. Georgia is alleged to be writing her memoirs.

Since I have only read three of the Nigel Strangeways books I don’t know if Georgia ever finishes Three Thousand Miles Through the Bush on a Tricycle, or what she finally decides to call it. I imagine we won’t be surprised if she chooses a somewhat snappier title, less facetious title. We learn that Georgia has travelled to Borneo, Egypt and the Sudan, and more recently the outer Hebrides so she has plenty to write about.

Also mentioned in There’s Trouble Brewing, Nigel has written a book on the Caroline poets (Richard Lovelace, Andrew Marvell etc) and is invited to give a lecture to a literary society in Dorset. Obviously he gets embroiled in a Dorset murder investigation.
