Author: Cullen “Cubby” Greenwich
Publisher: Not known
Source book: Relentless by Dean Koontz
One O’Clock Jump, the sixth book from bestselling author Cullen “Cubby” Greenwich, is generally well received in the literary community. But one critic, Shearman Waxx, gives it a scathing (and somewhat inaccurate) review.
Waxx starts a full blown vendetta against “Cubby” Greenwich and his wife Penny Bloom, who writes books for children such as The Other Side of the Woods. And their son, soon to invent a handy time machine. The Greenwich family can’t seem to escape him. Oh, and Waxx also threatens the family dog, Lassie. Basically beyond the pale then.
Shearman Waxx’s mother Zazu turns out to be the mastermind of a sinister organisation seeking to control society by destroying those who create positive symbols of hope and happiness through their work. The Greenwich family kill mother and son (and grandson) in self defence.
Also featuring is John Clitherow, author of Mr Bluebird.
No, I still haven’t read a Dean Koontz book but apparently Relentless was a bestseller. I read an article that mentioned One O’Clock Jump and then checked out Wikipedia.
