Mr Shropshire - the story of a dragan by Petros Drinking-Well
Thanks to Carmen Agra Deedy |
Author: Petros Drinking-Well (nom de plume of Jake Cunningham aged 6)
Publisher: Not known
Source book: The Venetian House by Mary Nickson
It’s not clear whether Jake ever finishes this wonderful sounding book. Or even begins to write it. But Mr Shropshire seems to me to be a great name for a dragon, and Petros Drinking-Well is a fantastic nom de plume.
Just in case the book is never finished (or indeed published), Jake has already provided a couple of reviews on the back page of his notebook:
“Mr Drinking-Well has riten a reely good book” The Sun
“A hugely good reed” The Times.
Apparently Jake hardly ever writes under his own name and is much given to double barrelled pseudonyms. His mother Victoria has a drawer full of his literary masterpieces.
