Kill or Be Killed - Using the Lessons of the Battlefield in the Boardroom
Author: someone in the Israeli Special Forces
Publisher: Not known, but available as an audio book
Source book: The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
One of the personal trainers at the gym recommended this book to Ian Ventham, the deeply unpleasant owner (part owner) of Coopers Chase “Britain’s First Luxury Retirement Village” (actually the nineth). He has been listening to it in his car.
We don’t learn whether Ian has had time to follow any of the advice in Kill or Be Killed, but judging from what we discover about his past life he probably didn’t need to bother. I suspect Ian knows all about the battlefield already.
You can tell what sort of a man he is by the illegally tinted windows in the Range Rover. And I see he has had an icebox fitted in his car.
There are a number of books out there called Kill or Be Killed. One by James Patterson for example. But I think this one is fictitious.
Later in The Thursday Murder Club, Ian Ventham listens to Screw It, Let’s Do It by Richard Branson while he’s on the treadmill at the gym (it’s a real book).
I borrowed some images from the Audley Villages website. Their villages look very luxurious indeed, and I’m quite sure they never allow murders. |
