Is Man a Myth?
Title: Is Man a Myth?
Author: Not known

Source book: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis
Lucy Pevensie accidentally blunders into the frozen land of Narnia through a wardrobe full of fur coats. Wandering through the snowy forest she meets Mr Tumnus, a faun, who is (sort of) an agent of the White Witch, and he invites her home for tea.
One of the books in Mr Tumnus’s cave is Is Man a Myth? Nothing further is known about this book, but as a faun, Mr Tumnus may never have seen a human until he saw Lucy. Although, hang about, what about the White Witch? She looks very like a human although she is some sort of a giant if I remember correctly (my books are in storage). We don’t learn what happened to the descendants of King Frank and Queen Helen (if any), but presumably they disappeared from Narnia some time before Is Man a Myth? was written.
As Mr Tumnus finds out, man is definitely not a myth. His books include The Life and Letters of Silenus, Nymphs and Their Ways, and Men, Monks and Gamekeepers; a Study in Popular Legend.
I can’t help feeling Mr Tumnus needs a woolly jumper.
