From Trafalgar to Navarino: The Lost Legacy by Commander Hugh Loftus VC, RN
The Battle of Trafalgar |
Author: Commander Hugh Loftus VC, RN
Publisher: Not known
Source book: The Old Vengeful by Anthony Price (David Audley #12)
The Battle of Trafalgar (the British navy vs the French and Spanish) was fought in 1803, and the Battle of Navarino (Britain, France and Russia in support of Greek independence vs an Ottoman and Egyptian armada) in 1827 but I’m sorry to say that apart from that I have no information about a possible lost legacy. I don’t know what it means. The fictional Hugh Loftus the retired naval officer who wrote From Trafalgar to Navarino is a naval historian, which I am not.
Looking at these pictures both battles look extremely destructive.
Hugh Loftus is also the author of Dover Patrol; and a book about the twelve Royal Navy ships and a submarine, named Vengeful. This book was unfinished at his death. There is considerable detail about the various Vengefuls (most of them fictitious) in The Old Vengeful.
